About

Oberlin Global Feminist Collective is a student-led, cross-cultural research initiative based at Oberlin College, connecting scholars, activists, and community leaders from six regions - Vietnam, South Korea, Latin America, France, Germany, and South Africa.

We investigate how feminist movements evolve within diverse political, cultural, and spiritual contexts, with a special focus on indigenous belief systems and locally rooted activism. Through comparative qualitative research, we map strategies, document lived experiences, and identify best practices that can be adapted across borders.

Our work goes beyond academic publication. We convene expert panels, focus groups, and online dialogues with activists worldwide; translate our findings into policy briefs, advocacy tools, and educational resources; and partner with international NGOs and feminist networks to amplify underrepresented voices.

The Collective builds on earlier advocacy with the Vietnamese Female Students Association, carrying forward a commitment to bridging research and action so that feminist knowledge does not stay in archives, but fuels policy change and grassroots empowerment.

Mission

To generate actionable, cross-cultural feminist research that informs policy and strengthens grassroots activism. We design and lead comparative studies across Vietnam, South Korea, Latin America, France, Germany, and South Africa - integrating indigenous belief systems, local organizing strategies, and community voices to produce policy briefs, advocacy tools, and educational resources for global feminist networks.
